Proposed Session Description
As carbon emissions reductions deadlines rush towards colleges and universities across the globe, administrators struggle with finding the best path forward while managing both environmental and fiscal responsibility. In 2018, Connecticut College adopted a sustainability plan with commitments to reduce carbon emissions, and needed to identify a path to achieve those goals. The Stone House Group was brought in to advise and provide services towards development of a strategic plan to achieve these goals. This session will describe the strategy and provide tips to institutions struggling with meeting their targets.
Diversity and Inclusiveness
Climate change disproportionately affects members of minority communities. The College is doing its part to reduce the effects of climate change on its population.
Learning Objectives
Familiarize opportunities for incentives to support project implementation.
Classify Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) based on priority and return on investment (ROI)
Recognize areas of opportunity within their own institution
Identify best practices for approaching carbon reductions on college campuses
