Proposed Session Description
How do we bring high performance design and construction skills to scale in MA? Exposure, training resources, project-based job experience, consumer demand, and developer confidence are key to moving the needle on reducing the building sector’s carbon emissions and energy usage.
115 Passive House multifamily feasibility studies have been completed through the Mass Save incentive path, 25% of currently enrolled Mass Save High Rise & Passive House path projects are considering or committed to Passive House certification. Nearly 40% are Low-Income projects. We will highlight a few examples engaging development and design teams to understand the many benefits of low energy targets and early design coordination.
Diversity and Inclusiveness
Nearly 40% of the total passive house projects enrolled with Mass save are low income/affordable housing developments. Over 200 developers including community development organizations, institutions, and senior housing organizations have participated since 2016.
