Proposed Session Description
In this session, attendees will learn how to attack energy and water-related inefficiencies with a portfolio strategy that embodies a top-down and boots on the ground approach. By diving into a few national market-rate multifamily housing case studies, attendees will see the impact of: - A tiered portfolio-wide implementation of a specific energy efficiency technology (ex: LEDs). - Access to engineering experts, remote and onsite, that enable property staff across the country to increase the performance of their portfolios. - Selected energy retrofits to meet the specific needs of the property, while contributing to corporate sustainability goals.

As real estate owners expand their portfolios and become more geographically dispersed, it is critical they manage and balance competing goals, from the fund level to the property level, to reduce energy intensity and meet sustainability goals. This is especially important for large national real estate owners who have an opportunity and responsibility to reduce carbon emissions and create healthier environments for their tenants.
