Proposed Session Description
The new Phius REVIVE Pilot program for retrofit is being developed around a vision for upgrading existing buildings so that, ideally, they do not cause greenhouse gas emissions either directly or indirectly, and also so that they can function using locally-generated renewable energy; the retrofit process itself also does not cause GHG emissions, directly or indirectly, and deficiencies are fixed, i.e. risks to indoor air quality. The scope includes land use, decarbonization, cost/equity, resilience, health, quality assurance, and phase planning. Resilience will be a key determinant of the requirements around passive measures, with a goal of covering critical loads using on-site or local-microgrid renewable energy generation and storage.

Yes - I want to hear from PHIUS about how they can adapt their model to include embodied costs, or how they plan to value / evaluate existing building stock rather than focus purely on operational energy.Should be a conversation with Michael about the two PHIUS sessions submitted, confirm there is real info on this one, but I think this one is more interesting.

Round 1: Maybe- While the topic of passive house and retrofit of existing buildings is exteremely interesting, I don't see a great connection to the conference topic of "whos in". If this session were to continue, there needs to be much more effort to connect this to the conference topic. This also seems to be a bit of a sales pitch for a PHIUS program that is currently being developed. How does this program address Diversity, Equity, or Inclusion? "Old buildings have to be part of the retrofit solution" is not an answer to this question and only shows that the program has little to no understnading of thinking "Who" this program would impact/benefit. I think that this session could be made relevant, but much more work would need to be done.

Diversity and Inclusiveness
Old buildings have to be part of the retrofit solution.
Learning Objectives
Understand the scope of the program
Understand the differences between new construction certification and the REVIVE Pilot.
Understand the ADORB full-cost accounting metric
Know the key requirements and the getting-started requirements
