The pursuit of architecture is predefined with our own creative needs and biases as we envision design spaces. The clarion calls of response to climate change primarily focus on performance and energy use of the building. These voices enforce top down policies, planning and decision processes which disproportionately impact vulnerable communities who inhabit these spaces with little influence as stakeholders in the decision making process. The outcome of the design process is not equitable or just. The pendulum in AEC needs to move from everyone arriving as experts to shifting their orientation to explore new possibilities, solutions and visionary approaches
