From Macro to Micro: Institutional leaders and real estate owners have big goals for decarbonizing their campuses or building portfolios. They have backlogs of deferred maintenance, municipality energy requirements, or tenant driven goals to achieve, while also competing with many demands on their facilities budgets. This session will share how institutions are achieving these big goals with targeted, cost-effective actions at individual buildings. Learn useful data types for dealing with existing building stock and an existing conditions exploration process that identifies and helps prioritize actions to address both carbon goals and deferred maintenance – and within calendar constraints.
Diversity and Inclusiveness
The session will illustrate an inclusion process that brings all stakeholders to the table to make sure every voice is heard. This will ensure that the project design principles address everyone's needs, and will create a more inclusive, welcoming and success building renovations.
Learning Objectives
Detail an existing conditions exploration process to address the characteristics and challenges of each of the buildings on your campus or portfolio relative to your carbon reduction goals.
Describe an inclusive process of engaging various stakeholders and leveraging collected data to develop a project priority list.
Evaluate the EUI implications of targeted building actions and establish priorities.
Identify ways to fit and phase project schedules into institutional calendars to create less disruption.

Full Description
The task of identifying and solving challenges associated with numerous buildings of different eras, programmatic uses, MEP systems and energy generation can be a daunting one, but necessary for a carbon neutral future and to achieve municipality energy goals. This session will share a proven process of leveraging data to evaluate and prioritize projects to ensure institutional leaders and owners are making the most sound and impactful decisions to making progress towards a carbon neutral future.
