Proposed Session Description
Information rich 3d models built by Architects, Engineers and construction teams can be utilized to support design analysis and to compare between conceptual base models and construction models. This session will define and discuss leading-edge technologies and construction solutions for Life cycle Assessment workflow, digital prefabrication and Automation in design and construction. discussing several real-life project case studies on how BIM data could be applied to the building process to build greener and provide substantial cost and materials savings.
Why is this session important?
Most projects are now planned and designed in BIM. Revit models are getting more and more detailed. The investment in the data we put in the detailed 3d models could help us in the visual analysis of building’s life cycle assessments as well as fabricating building elements in the most sustainable ways. providing waste reduction and high quality building components done in factory setting with the most energy efficient methods; In a fraction of time of traditional methods. the session will also showcase the production of detailed reports necessary for LEED certifications and track the building design involvements from conceptual to final sustainable designs. It’s all about the data not the 3d model. So, from the early design stage, designers could benefit from adopting a process of creating detailed models with consistent standard elements throughout the project lifecycle.
Learning Objectives
Attendees will develop a deeper understanding of how utilizing leading edge technologie ssuch as automation, robotics and 3d printing can support greener methods to design adn build. learning more about Virtual Design & construction techniques and capabilities utilizing BIM data for sustainability model-based analysis.,
Attendees will have an overview of different methods on how to build 3d models at early stages of design to become valuable assets during the close-out of projects., Through case studies attendees will explore the use of 3d modelling and BIM Latest technologies including Drone mapping and laser scanning can streamline decision making in sustainable designs including modular construction and other structure types.
