Proposed Session Description
With the dramatic reduction of solar costs in recent years, solarization of vertical surfaces has entered into economic viabilitiy. A host of new technologies and applications have opened up with the availability of these technologies--both for manufacturers and customers.
Diversity and Inclusiveness
Vertical solar empowers residents in urban low-income multiresidential buildings to take part in the benefits of solar.
Learning Objectives
Installers will be able to expertly evaluate the potential for vertical solar as an option for solarization of buildings and other structures.
Architects will be able to expertly specify vertical solar technologies where they believe these technologies are a good customer fit.
Policy-makers will gain an appreciation of the demographic divide that conventional solar modules create, and be able to consider solar products where conventional modules have been a poor fit, thereby addressing that demographic divide with products that are attractive to poor, disadvantaged, urban communities.
Inustry analysts will understand the benefit and cost differences between offering conventional solar and vertical solar options to customers.
