Proposed Session Description
As we look to comply with NYC Local Law 97 (LL97), we must efficiently leverage other energy-related laws in order to make more cost effective, timely, and holistic decisions regarding electrification and carbon reduction upgrades. Our panel will discuss sample buildings’ with various timelines of when other NYC laws come into effect and how these laws can be leveraged. This session will focus on the Façade Inspection Safety Program (FISP, formerly LL11), LL84/133 (Energy Benchmarking), LL87 (Energy Auditing and Retro-Commissioning), LL88 (Lighting Retrofits and Sub-metering), and LL152 (Gas Piping System Inspections). We invite the audience to come with specific project questions so our panelists can provide advice and best practices.
Why is this session important?
Local law compliance is a time consuming and costly process that often is not done holistically with other building needs, particularly energy and carbon saving goals. We need to bridge the gap between local laws compliance and buildings’ energy and carbon reduction goals so they can reap energy and carbon savings earlier, more deeply, and more cost-effectively.

Yes - while this doesn't address one of the gaps included in the RFP, it does address the knowledge gap when it comes to local laws

Kristy O'Hagan Wed, 05/04/2022 - 8:57 am

Yes - Skills gap. I think this is a well thought out session. Are there any LLs regarding climate/resiliancy/etc that are coming up? Are there other regulations that the attendees should be aware of with regard to other building types?

Round 1 Discussion:No Questions. Liked holistic approach to relevant local laws. Well thought-out session. Addresses knowledge gap. 3 speakers and a moderator. architect, engineering, product management. No gaps. Only comment is that doesn't directly address one of the four identified gaps.

YES - I spoke with Jei and Mariel. Asked them to clarify a bit on which gap/s their session identifies with and incorporate ina bit into their session. They clarified the presentation will present case studies and take aways followed by a panel discussion. They also offered to provide guides of the NYC Local Laws for reference so the audience can follow along better.

R2 Discussion:Asked them to clarify which gaps they were striving to bridge. They Will get back on that. Will present case studies and panelists will be architects, engineers, and project managers. NYC centric however can be broadened because of wholistic approach. Provide paper info on local laws as a take away? Haven't seen any other session like this. Questions, Concerns, Suggestions: Do they have data and case studies? Sounds like they will have at least 2 case studies and lessons learned. Additional Case Study possibly a condo or coop owner?
