"Full-service clean-energy" -- is that the ideal business approach for the radical carbon reduction the residential market requires today? Forty-plus years ago, "Energyworks" was a brand-new and new kind of business, providing everything needed for an energy overhaul. It combined formerly-separated trades to offer audit, insulation, windows, and HVAC services. The innovative enterprise has had a long-term influence: it helped invent the modern energy audit, it published the influential booklet "In the Bank or Up the Chimney," and it launched the careers of a number of people still practicing in different parts of the energy arena today. We bring a few of those folks back together to review today's need for residential energy services, and offer an assessment on whether the "Energyworks" model might be adequate to today's challenges.
