Proposed Session Description
A very successful pilot program began in the Pacific Northwest with NEEA. Now it has been taken up across North America for more development and regional confirmation. This session will outline the model for electrification/carbon reduction in HVAC systems, while saving significant energy and addressing the new focus on healthy buildings in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. With projects under way with ComEd in Chicago, NYSERDA across the State of New York, and BC Hydro in British Columbia, this model is reaching critical mass. This session will share case studies, and explore why utilities and energy efficiency organizations across North America are adopting and testing this powerful model. Data is king, and these projects are generating lots and lots of data that we will share.
Learning Objectives
Attendees will learn about the HVAC Retrofit Model that is being funded by utilities across North America. This will include an understanding of what a "High Performance HVAC System" entails.
Attendees will understand the key components of the model, and why they deliver such significant energy savings and improved occupant health and comfort. Key data points will allow for detailed analysis.
Attendees will learn key steps to implementing high performance HVAC retrofits, as well as opportunities for funding and/or financing that make sense to the building owners and/or occupants.
Attendees will understand the implications for improved IAQ, health and comfort with regards to real estate valuation, rent rates and occupancy levels when implementing high performance HVAC systems.
Has this session been presented before?

Additional Comments
I have submitted on some of the material previously. The major difference is the scope of work to share (with three utilities across North America taking up the model as of 1 January 2021) and the data available.

Full Description
Energy Efficiency programs for commercial buildings has lagged the residential sector for some time. Aside from LED lighting programs, utilities and EE organizations have been searching for programs that deliver a solution that is cost effective, achievable across a wide range of property types, and compelling from the perspective of the building owners and occupants. This model is proving to be a good addition to their offerings.
