Proposed Session Description
Lighting is hands down the most “visible” and universal technology humans are exposed to in the built environment. While energy savings often initiate the discussion to switch to LEDs, lighting can deliver far more than just light and energy savings. The growth of human-centric lighting over the past 8 years has led to an increasing focus on the visual and non-visual effects of light. From alleviating headaches through flicker-free lighting to improving sleep quality through circadian lighting, advanced lighting systems can provide more amicable and productive environments.

Full Description
Organizations intending to progress sustainably must take into account not only the energy impacts of their lighting but also the human impacts. Recent advances in modular lighting technology enable facilities to implement more human-centric lighting without hindering their ability to upgrade or replace the lighting in the future.
