Proposed Session Description
Training helps lead to better designs, results in better construction practices, and in-turn, results. And just as critical, training helps to ensure buildings are performing as intended AFTER completion of a project. Trainee engagement and participation is just as important as the content itself. Hear successes and lessons learned on integration of training into business practices to create sustained change.
Diversity and Inclusiveness
Training needs to be received in an equitable way – we will review how content needs to be accessible to various audiences based on knowledge levels, learning formats – verbal, written, active participation etc and language based.
Learning Objectives

Comments about your speaker roster
Looking to have building staff as speakers and possibly have a trainer from a local union speak about their approach to training. The market is selling training to senior leadership, unions are giving training directly to participants - "how it this working out?" is an interesting question to dive into.
Anything else you'd like to tell us about your session proposal?
Open to coordinating with local unions offering trainings, agencies funding trainings or other companies offering trainings.

Full Description
Integrating training into business practices is innovative because it leads to better participation and in-turn, better results. The results that "training" is aiming for is better design, installations, and operations and maintenance daily. Where is the buy-in from all levels across the large span of organizations involved? How are results verified and sustained? We are looking to empower folks to identify when they see an “issue” and bridge the gap to “issue I can fix”. Is this done outside of the training? Is the behavior change incentivized? Training is getting more funding in the past few years, how well is that being received and allocated? What change are we looking for from training and how are we measuring success? How are organizations moving from attending a one off training to a full change in business practice? Are organizations successfully creating sustainable training programs?
