Proposed Session Description
This powerful session on process will introduce a few of the most immediately transformative frameworks of Regenerative Practice for exploration in workshop format. Afterward, we will present case studies that illustrate the power of changing the process and shifting our thoughts related to how projects of all sorts can be informed and developed. The session will engage at several levels and will be of use to anyone who recognizes that we need to do things differently than we have in our traditional, and more predictable past, if we are to co-create our thrival future.
Diversity and Inclusiveness
The intent of Regenerative Practice is all about inclusion of diverse mindsets, systems, and communities. This will be explored in the session directly.
Learning Objectives
Identify 2-3 ways that scaling the process instead of the products supports inclusion, diversity, and climate action
Describe your experience in creation of a function/being/statement and how this supports deeper connection of a project team
Recognize 2-3 Regenerative Practice frameworks and how to access resources to learn more
Identify resistance points in your own practice and/or firm approach

Comments about your speaker roster
Marcus is amazing. Just saying.
Anything else you'd like to tell us about your session proposal?
As noted in the agenda for the session, part of Regenerative Practice is to avoid creating content for others and instead seek to create content WITH others. This will be a stretch for NESEA, but not a big one. We request that if this session on robust practice learning intrigues you that we meet with 1-2 content curators and perhaps a member of the Board or Staff to develop the actual session together, using the frameworks (processes and lenses) of Regenerative Practice,. This experience will make the session that much more impactful for all. Perhaps 1-2 sessions of 1 to 1.5 hours that will also benefit YOUR process skills. =) We would also be willing to expand the session if a workshop of greater length is of interest. I (Jodi) feel this practice is transformative and will be instrumental in all work.

Full Description
“Think globally, Act locally” needs a resurgence in our professions. Nature teaches us that the most successful things are locationally specific (essentialized to that place) and diverse, and yet we insist on scaling solutions without considering these vast differences between climates, systems, building types, or owner entities. How do we begin to make a large globally impactful shift to reduce carbon and not default to a one-solution fits everything technology that we then sell to everyone? We scale the process, so we can find what will work best in that place and for that specific purpose. This session will experientially share some ways to engage in transformative process work.
