Proposed Session Description
In the new construction environment, heating and cooling consume the most energy, making the use of geothermal a critical part of decarbonization efforts. Geothermal heating and cooling is the most efficient and effective solution to seamlessly transition to an electrified future. This presentation will emphasize collaboration from construction, to HVAC industries and utilities to build, scale and transition to sustainable energy sources and upgraded delivery infrastructure.
Why is this session important?
The global decarbonization push has made adopting clean energy technologies more important than ever. In the built environment, heating and cooling are the most significant energy consumers, making the planning, design, and specification of geothermal solutions within new construction, multi-family housing, and retrofitting existing buildings with geothermal solutions a critical part of humanity’s decarbonization efforts. Geothermal allows full electrification of our buildings, even in the coldest of climates, and with the least amount of additional load on our electric grid afforded by any technology.
Learning Objectives
Attendees will gain valuable insights and knowledge on 1) The key differences between geothermal HVAC systems and alternative technologies, both in terms of emissions impact and functionality.
Attendees will gain valuable insights and knowledge on: 2) The financial landscape surrounding geothermal HVAC, including incentives, tax credits, and the impact of legislation on the adoption of this technology.
Attendees will gain valuable insights and knowledge on: 3) The lifecycle costs of geothermal systems, emphasizing the long-term economic benefits of investing in geothermal HVAC over other alternatives.
Attendees will gain valuable insights and knowledge on: 4) The essential role of architects, engineers, and other industry professionals in championing geothermal HVAC systems with their clients, ensuring its widespread adoption for a sustainable, electrified future. Our industry is going all electric and geothermal allows us to provide a resilient, high performance, low cost, low maintenance way to make it happen.
