New innovative heat pump products are entering the New York market in order to help electrify space heating and improve space cooling efficiency. These products are alternatives to traditional split system VRF heat pumps and mini-splits. Our session will provide an overview of four of them: 1) An air-to-water heat pump system that can provide space and water heating to hydronic buildings; 2) a packaged heat pump that mounts inside an exterior wall with a duct penetration to outside; 3) a mini-split that fits in a PTAC sleeve and connects to a wall-mounted air handler; and 4) a DIY-installed window-mounted inverter-driven high efficiency heat pump.
