More than 25% of the residential units in the Northeast are in multifamily buildings (defined as 5+ units). Owners and managers of multifamily buildings, as well as small family auditors/contractors who want to begin to work in this industry, are not familiar with the details of making these buildings more sustainable (energy efficient, resilient, comfortable, but most importantly, cash flowing). Your job is to highlight increased cash flow and avoided costs in a condensed report format for owners to make a decision. These reports, done in cooperation with a government or utility program, or simply by owner/manager request, must be simple and to the point. The morning session of this workshop will feature an introduction to fuel and water analysis in multifamily buildings, then a pictorial walkthrough of 3 to 5 buildings with recommendations for full sustainability retrofits. In the afternoon, a team of multifamily experts will answer any questions about how to solve particular problems in particular buildings, or respond to general information about auditing multifamily buildings.
