Integrating Resiliency into Architecture, Landscape Infrastructure, and Energy Systems
In this session we will explore the various forms that resiliency can take and the scales it can encompass in architectural and engineering practice, particularly as it concerns infrastructure, buildings, landscape and energy system design.
Hybrid Distributed Energy Resources (DER)
This panel will explore current use cases for distributed energy resource (DER) technologies such as PV, CHP, and energy storage. We will walk through modeling considerations for each of the technologies (primarily CHP and energy storage) and a few hybrid configurations, focusing on practical, financial, and technical considerations.
Rewards and Risks of Highly Insulated Envelopes for Multifamily Buildings
Largely thanks to their better form-factor, large multifamily buildings are typically able to achieve the Passive House standard without the extremely high levels of insulation common on smaller buildings. However, there are cases where very high levels of insulation may be needed, particularly when working in dense urban areas.
