Proposed Session Description
An urgent and aggressive response to climate change and a clean economy requires a massive labor mobilization of a latent workforce which has been devastated by the COVID-19 pandemic. President Biden has indicated support for a 21st century version of the original Civilian Conservation Corps. How can the Civilian Climate Corps (CCC) operationally optimize and employ an equitable and diverse group of 1 million Americans in 4 years to complete clean energy, climate resilience, conservation, and sustainable infrastructure projects, while providing education, training, and career pathways in good-paying union jobs. We will explore current tactics and didactics from the front line.
Why is this session important?
Environmental equity and inclusion. How to become carbon neutral by 2050. Workforce development in underserved neighborhoods.

- Yes / Maybe - but needs more development. Who's on the panel discussion? What stage of development is the CCC in? I'm very interested in hearing more about the federal governments efforts in this! I only want to hear about what's actually happening / about to happen. I'm not interested in hearing wishful thoughts on what the federal government could do. Maybe this would be a better presentation next year? After things are in motion.

Round 1: Maybe
• I do like this topic. It is very current, important, and challenging. However, the description and WHY are too general that it sadly makes the learning objectives sound low impact and the usual.
• Would like more details – case study? best practices and partnerships that are currently available such as? Other panelists? Inside information on CCC or what can the attendees do to support the CCC?

ROUND 1 DISCUSSION: Current, important. Proposal is too general. Learning objectives: low impact, "the usual." What it lacks: Case study, best practices, partnerships, other panelists, inside information. Panelist discussion - without naming panelists. Might be too soon to talk about this. Next year after CCC is happening, with real results. Continue to watch for important topics coming out of Biden's administration, perhaps Frank Mruk could participate that way.

Diversity and Inclusiveness

To learn how to focus on equity in under-resourced communities.
