This interactive workshop will engage participants in a hands-on working session to explore tools that effectively utilize metrics, benchmarks, and tracking of actual energy data in order to inform project goal setting and integrated design strategies for net zero and net zero ready buildings. Presenters will demonstrate a process to evaluate and successfully demonstrate cash flow positive financial investments in net zero and net zero ready buildings. We will ask critical questions, such as, “what is an EUI and why bother?” and “what’s the right energy modeling tool for the company, the specific project, and the design phase?” Through hands-on interactive excel based exercises on participants’ laptops, learn the importance of comparative modeling (base case vs net zero) in achieving high performance results and building support for net zero construction. Additionally, case studies will be shared throughout to provide additional context and demonstrate the application of these concepts to real projects. Participants will learn simple steps and come away with Excel tools and templates to assist with team selection and to also assist your integrated design team with implementing strategies and achieving net zero status in your next project.
